European Funding and Fellowship Opportunities
Newton Fund - Industry-academia partnership - Thailand. Deadline 12 December
The goal of this programme is to strengthen capacity and develop capabilities within Thai engineering higher education and research institutions.  This call offers financial support for travel, subsistence and salary support costs related to visits and exchanges that support collaborative activities amongst industry and academic partners in Thailand and the UK. Germany: International Climate Protection Fellowship for Young Climate Experts from Developing Countries. ASEAN Researchers Eligible

Are you a future leader from a developing country in ASEAN and are active in climate change research?  Are you are interested in spending a year working with a host of your choice in Germany on a research-based project you have developed yourself?  Up to 20 International Climate Protection Fellowships are granted annually that target prospective leaders from non-European transition and developing countries, including countries in ASEAN.  German language training is offered. Details here

Wellcome Trust - International Master's Fellowships in Health for Low and Middle Income Countries. Applications from ASEAN (ex Singapore and Brunei) Encouraged
This scheme offers nationals of low- and middle-income countries the opportunity to receive training at Master’s degree level in health related fields including population health and infectious diseases. Details here

Wellcome Trust - Human Infection Studies for Vaccine Development in Low and Middle Income Countries. Teams from ASEAN (ex Singapore and Brunei) Eligible
This scheme supports teams of researchers working on human infection studies in low- and middle-income countries. The aim is to accelerate vaccine development. Between £3 million to £5 million in funding for up to 5 years. Details here

Postdoc Fellowships Open to ASEAN Researchers at  Europe's Leading Universities of Science and Technology
The  EuroTechPostdoc Programme is a postdoctoral fellowship programme for young experienced researchers who have already demonstrated excellence and potential in their field of research. All EuroTech Postdoc Fellows will be Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellows. Four universities  (DTU, EPFL, TU/e and TUM) will grant 80 fellowships divided over two calls for experienced researchers. Hungary – Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarships. Undergraduate to PhD

Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme for bachelor, master, doctoral, and non-degree programmes (preparatory and specialisation courses) in Hungary. The  call is open to citizens of Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia , Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam. Apart from the tuition-free education, the Programme provides a monthly stipend, medical insurance and housing allowance. Details here

Turkey - TÜBİTAK ‟2221” Fellowships for Visiting Scientists and Scientists on Sabbatical Leave. ASEAN Researchers Eligible
Fellowships offered to researchers who would like to give workshops, conferences, lectures, or conduct R&D activities in Turkey. Three types of visits are granted:  Short-term (up to 1 month), Long-term (up to 12 months) and Sabbatical Leave (from 3 months to 12 months). Grants cover monthly stipend and travel costs. Fantastic Turn Out for the European Research Days in Yogyakarta and Medan in Indonesia
More than 320 researchers and representatives of research support offices from across Indonesia joined the European Research Days organised in Yogyakarta on 14 November and Medan in Sumatra on 16 November.  Participants travelled from as far away as Aceh, Papua, and Kalimantan to join these events. EURAXESS ASEAN, the British, French and German Embassies, DAAD, Campus France, Institut Français d'Indonésie, Université de Poitiers, the British Council, and Nuffic Neso all presented on a wide range of funding opportunities and support mechanisms available to researchers in Indonesia.
